Happy Birthday to my blog !!!

Yes, its my blog birthday today and it completed successfully 7 years :). Exactly on 27th Feb, 2010 I posted for the first time on my blog. I was already pondering to start a blog long before but it finally materialized on this day seven years back. Im so proud of it and wish to write and share many more experiences of my life through this platform. In a way blogging helped me to get my thoughts organized and get a better perspective towards life. I hope to celebrate many more birthdays in the future as well.:)

Travel Post -1

This year as per my new year goals of 2017 , I intend to travel a lot and I had the opportunity to travel to two places in the month January and February namely Kanpur and Bhubaneshwar. I had a good time with my colleagues after a long time as I took a break and went on for a personal tour nearly after 5 years. Below are some of the pictures I wanted to share with you guys. The sand art was created by world famous artist Sudharshan pattnaik and it was just awesome to see it.

The LingaRaj Temple which is constructed in 12th century houses every God you could possibly imagine and it was fascinating to see the intricate and dazzling architecture of the temple. As a engineer I couldnt stop myself appreciating the effort of the builders have gone to create this monument of its kind and that too 800 years back.

The Puri Jagannath temple is one of holiest places for Hindus and a must visit in one's life. I was lucky enough to visit this temple which was constructed about 13th century and its usually famous for its yearly Ratha Yatra of Shri Jagannath swami. Everybody should visit this once in their lifetime.

The next stop was The Sun God, Konark and its brief history is given below. Here the photography was allowed unlike the other two places I have visited. Perhaps this temple is an engineering marvel and a blend of science and spirituality at a higher level. Our guide told us that the Sun god statue was hung in the air using the magnets and it was constructed in such a way that the very first rays of Sun falls onto the feet of the statue. This is enough to understand their mastery over engineering at that time i.e., 13th century is mind blowing. There are about 12 wheels surrounding the temple with each wheel explaining the various aspects of life. And to my surprise the wheels are designed to indicate the time of the day based on the rays of the sun. That was an incredible engineering feat.

The JK temple which was contructed by JK tyres company as it is located in kanpur is very peaceful. It houses the Lord Krishna along with Radhe, The height of the temple is around 50 metres is a feast to eyes altogether.

Food Drive-5 (Feb 2017)

Keeping my tradition of contributing every month to the Group called Food bank Hyderabad which distributes the food to the needy one every sunday, This time I decided to rise up the bars and contributed 200 veg biryani packets ( costing Rs. 7000/-) to their Sunday food drive. Flower Post!!

Recently I have been to travelling a lot and I came across these beautiful flowers that stole my heart;). It was just a feast to my eyes and I just couldn't stop myself from taking pictures of these flowers. Blankets for Needy !!!

After my previous visit to the NGO called GOONJ in december, I came to know that they are in need of blankets for needy as the winter is at its peak in India. I felt I need to do something in this regard and I decided to buy blankets. I bought 50 nos of blankets ( Rs. 240 each) at PVT mall near my house.

I found some old unused utensils lying up in my house since ages. Goonj also takes such utensils and gives them to the needy. So i took these utensils as well along with me.

After a good interaction with Mr. Parithosh from Goonj, I handed over all the items to him and he ensured that these items will be put to good use and gave me the following receipt.

I felt good for that day and Im gearing up for few more requirements for Goonj which I came to know after talking to Parithosh. Hopefully I will do things I intended to do in the near future.

A special thanks to my friend SA prasad for helping me out during this entire process.

Food Drive- 04 ( Jan 2017)

Time for this month Food bank Drive organised by a group called FOOD BANK- HYDERABAD which organizes food drive every Sunday. As per pledge I took to do it at least once in a month. So this Sunday i.e., 08/01/2017, I have made an arrangement to give 100 plates of Veg biryani ( Rs. 35/-)through a Food centre recommended by the group itself. The Food Bank team collected the food item from the centre and distributed to the needy across the city.

Feeding the birds!!

My mom simply loves animals of all kind. She made arrangements to feed the birds with water and food in my house. Birds of different varieties started to notice the availability of food and water in my house and have become regular visitors to my house.Birds started to spend sometime in my house and they usually sing a lot ;). My mom always loved watching them have their little tummies filled and on one such occasion found a new bird feeding on the food. She was excited to watch it and I thought let me capture it on my camera.
