The Sad September

This September seems to be saddest month of the year with the way things have gone in our country. I was deeply upset with the following incidents starting from the attack on the Army headquarters in Uri, a girl being brutally  stabbed 27 times to her death for refusing to love and floods in Hyderabad. One event related to Peace between our neighbours, Another related to peace internally and the last one relating to the Peace between humans and the mother nature.

1. The Ideological Conflict

Being an ardent fan of Indian Army , it deeply hurts me to the core whenever I see/read in the news that our soldiers as well as innocent civilians were killed in a terror attack. At times like this, when I was a kid  I used to feel bad that I don't have any special powers that superheroes normally possess so that  I can put an end to this conflict once and for all and bring peace upon the two nations that would last forever. May be I sounded childish as i was suppose to be at that age, but as the way things are working now, I guess there won't be any peace that would last forever and we indeed need some super natural event to bring the two nations closer which I guess would never happen.

So after concluding that bringing peace between two nations is literally impossible , the feasible options left out are diplomatic isolation and war. Although a great effort is being made in this direction which may turnout to be  futile thus leaving the only option to  go to war.  As far as I'm concerned , we are heading towards war in near future which would bring catastrophe not only to the two nations but the world as a whole.

This is the bitter truth we should accept and be prepared for it. And I have no doubts that Our armed forces are ready to tackle any external threat. No matter how tough may be the situation , our armed forces are bound to make it to top of it. But incidents like Uri leaves a scar that is bound to heal. One thing we should all re-think about is how we treat a fallen soldier’s family. I see tremendous appreciation, respect and monetary rewards in huge amounts for our Olympics heroes but not the same for a fallen soldier and this must be changed. For I feel that the soldier is  the one who lets you and your family sleeps peacefully at night and lets you fulfill all your dreams. The soldier deserves a much more respect and monetary benefits to his family for the services he renders to this nation.

I only hope that our NSA’s strategy of defensive offence may workout and turn things into our favour when the direct conflict begins. And coming to dealing with internal unrest that only exists in certain sections, I guess a new strategy is required to address this issue  and I'm sure that it would be dealt properly like the way it was done in Punjab after the unrest for a separate nation was brought out.

May your soul rest in peace
2. The Psychological imbalance

“If you love someone truly , you should be in a position to let her go from your life for her happiness because all you ever wanted was her happiness”

I think this defines true love as far as I'm concerned and which is what is lacking in today’s generation. It is heart wrenching to see a girl been stabbed 27 times to death for refusing to love. I happen to see the video of it and my mind was completely blank for few minutes. The immediate questions that popped up my mind was how can someone do something like that to the one he loved ??. I was so frustrated and boiled by the anger that for  a moment i thought what kind of a planet I'm living. The brutality of this crime requires capital punishment to be awarded to the criminal and I'm sure that is what many people agree after watching video. I hope that our judiciary system would bring justice to her.

This incident challenges the safety of a women in our society and how she is being taken for granted. I don't know when the time would come , when a girl would feel safe and strong all by herself wherever she in and be in a position to defend herself against any aggression. After watching the movie ”PINK”, which rightly brought this aspect i.e., we should accept and respect whenever a girl says NO. It's means NO. The movie aptly highlighted  the issues faced by the women in this society which needs our serious attention. All this calls for a major change in the our mindset which I guess would take another 50 years.

Respect Her 'NO'
I always wanted to have a daughter if I ever get married and I'm already started to worry about her safety. I only hope that things would change by enforcing stricter laws as well as change in our mindset .And I think our cinema industry has a bigger role to play in changing the  mindset of the people  by stopping the projection of  a women as an object of just entertainment in the movies. We need more movies like “PINK” in the future to highlight as well as create more awareness about girl’s issues  among the people of this country.

Watch a beautiful recitation of " tu chal" from the movie PINK by Mr. Big B.

By the time , my daughter comes to this earth, I just hope as a father that  the world would be better place for her to live in.

I pray for the girl’s soul who was stabbed to rest in peace...

3. The Wrath of the nature.

“You take good care of me and i will take good care of you”

I guess our nature follows this adage very strictly. The floods have created a havoc in many lives in Hyderabad. I guess all this is happening because of the man made events that led to climate changes. Every year mother nature is indicating that she is not happy with us and we should take measures to make her happy otherwise we should be ready to face the wrath of the mother nature.

All the above said events occurred due to the lack of inner peace within a human being. I hope everyone realise this sooner and start working towards attaining Inner peace which leads to happiness and prosperity.

With Inner Peace , you can achieve anything:)

Vamsi.
