My story with bowling started in a strange way, and I’m glad it did happen , because of where I’m today, it gives a sense of satisfaction and scope for further improvement in this challenging game. It all started when we trio i.e., myself, my engineering classmates Karthik and Naren got bored of our routine weekend plan of watching a movie way back in January 2013. Just for a change, we visited the near by City Centre Mall which is famous for Bowling game owned by SVM company.
Our first game gave the required kick for me to take this game seriously . I happen to score 160/300. To give fair idea about this game . Just watch the picture below. All you have to do is to strike down the 10 pins placed orderly on a wooden frame with a ball and that too in two chances per round and you will be accordingly given points based on how many pins you will strike.
I really got addicted to the game, and to fuel further my friend karthik got addicted to this game too. Since then we did not look back, it has become our favourite pass-time for every weekend. More importantly, with each game played , my performance was improving a lot. I slowly was grasping the required techniques and was developing my own, based on the experience which further improved my performance.
Our duo was very well noted at SVM bowling centres for the tricks and skills we display especially SVM at kothapet , where I happen to score my career highest score so far i.e., 218/ 300 which was very well appreciated by SVM Company on their facebook page. This score is still the highest in the SVM kothapet Centre.
Our duo even participated in a bowling tournament conducted by SVM in which I stood 9th position in the finals competing with professional players who happen to represent India in commonwealth games . It did gave me a lot of exposure to various techniques and also how to cope up with pressure during the game.
In short , this game is added to my list of hobbies and brought out a new skill out of me and gave boosting to my confidence to a new level :) .I hope in all this ONE YEAR of playing this game , I can pretty much rate myself as a Intermediate player with more requirement of dedication and training to become a professional. I hope to achieve this one day soon :)
To end this post , here is a video of me spinning the ball to knock down a pin. Watch it and Enjoy :)
Stay Happy and Keep Smiling :)
